Connecting a LCD display to a micro-controller uses up a lot of pins, here a PCF8674 is used to drive the LCD via I2C thereby using only two pins. The software is for Arduino and based on the Jeenode port Libraries but adds two levels of background lighting. The print is single sided so easy to manufacture yourself. This came in handy when using a LCD with an unusual pin-out, the changes were easily made in the Eagle design and so the LCD can be used. |
